Splatter Effect Manicure

Hello my ducklings!

How are we? I'm so happy it's the freaking weekend. I was really hoping for a lie in today but my brain thought otherwise so I figured I better do something productive with my morning! I have my first Splatter design to show you today. I really enjoyed doing this, but my god it's messy haha. I went down the 'clean up my skin' route rather than use tape to mask and I regretted it big time.

I started with a base of W7 'White' then added the splatters in Barry M 'Shocking Pink', Barry M 'Indigo' and Rimmel 'Block Your Green'. I swore I'd never use 'Block Your Green' again as it stains like a mo-fo but I don't own any other bright greens! Must sort that out pronto as my skin looks like it's moldy lol.

What do you think? Have you given this method a go yet?

I hope you all have a fab weekend!

  4. Looks fantastic! Great colours. Sad about the Rimmel staining, I've never experienced that with Rimmel thankfully! Will steer clear of that one though, so thanks for the heads up.
Also, I can't be bothered with tape, I dip my fingers in petroleum jelly (aka Vaseline) and clean my nails (wipe off jelly+ swab with polish remover) before I start. Seems to work so far =) x

    1. Oh I'll have to try Vaseline next time! Never thought of that, thanks :) block your green is the only one I've ever had problems with which is a shame as I love the shade of green. You win some you lose some eh :) x

  5. wow this is amazing, love the colours. I make a total mess doing things like this. So hard getting it of my cuticles, especially dark colours.

  6. This is lovely and I really like the idea of doing a manicure like this but I don't know if I've got the patience to tape my fingers and do all of the clean up. Laziness, thy name is Natalie!
