Illamasqua Viridian & Glitterati Duo

Hello there my lovely duck heads!

I have the Illamasqua Viridian & Glitterati Duo to show you today (well tonight for me).
These photos have been sat in the 'vault' for a good month or so now so be warned, they are a tad poopy due to my nublets and overall crappy photography skills. Still..thought I'd show you anyway (I'm nice like that).

Glitterati is a deep purple, leaning towards red, I'd call this a jelly-creme as it's kind of too sheer to be a creme but not quite sheer enough to be a full blown jelly. This is two coats here and you can still see a few bald patches so it could definitely do with a third. I found it quite difficult to work with if I'm honest; it was a little on the gloopy side and took ages to dry on me. The glitter pay off was good enough though and I love that it had holographic pieces here and there.
I think I'll have to have another play with this as I think you can probably tell I'm not totally won over by it.

Viridian is much more my friend. The application was far easier and it was opaque at two coats. I love the subtle shimmer it has to it too which really gives it than something special. I don't really have anything bad to say about this one so I'll just let you have a perv of the photos.

These are my first Illamasqua buys and to be honest, for such an expensive brand I was expecting more. I think maybe I was having a bad day with Glitterati and I'll definitely have another pop at it when my nails are at a decent length to show it off as I have seen some amazing swatches of it! It hasn't put me off Illamasqua, the rubber finishes have just reached the UK so I definitely want to try those!

What do you think? Have you tried Illamasqua?

  1. The more i see this combo - the more I want it!

  2. I bought this duo as a bit of a birthday gift to myself :) I've had the same problems with Glitterati as you which is a shame as I absolutely love the colour and the sparkle :( x
